Daily Care Guide for Rock Drilling Rigs

Rock drilling rigs are indispensable equipment in geological exploration, mining and construction. Their performance and life directly affect the efficiency and safety of operations. To ensure the long-term and stable operation of the drilling rig, daily care is essential. The following are the key maintenance points for rock drilling rigs to help users extend the life of the equipment and reduce the failure rate.

1. Regular cleaning and inspection

After each operation, the surface of the drilling rig and key components, especially the drill rod, drill bit and hydraulic system, should be thoroughly cleaned. Residual rock chips and dust may accelerate wear and even cause hydraulic oil contamination. It is recommended to use a high-pressure air gun or a soft brush to clean the debris in the gap and check for loose or damaged parts.

2. Lubrication system maintenance

Lubrication is the core of reducing mechanical wear. The bearings, gears and transmission parts of the drilling rig need to be regularly filled with lubricating oil, and the specific frequency depends on the intensity of use and the environment. At the same time, check whether the oil circuit is unobstructed to avoid overheating or jamming due to insufficient lubrication.

3. Hydraulic system maintenance

The hydraulic system is the power core of the rock drilling rig, and the hydraulic oil quality and oil level need to be checked regularly. If the oil is found to be black or contains impurities, it should be replaced in time, and the oil tank and filter should be cleaned. In addition, ensure that there is no leakage in the hydraulic pipeline and the joints are tight to prevent insufficient pressure from affecting the operating efficiency.

4. Drill bit and drill rod management

The drill bit is a component that directly contacts the rock. It is necessary to select the appropriate type according to the geological conditions and check the wear regularly. Excessive wear of the drill bit not only reduces efficiency, but also may damage the drill rod. The drill rod connection should be kept clean to avoid loosening or breaking due to thread damage.

5. Electrical system inspection

The electrical circuit and control system must be moisture-proof and shock-proof. Regularly check whether the terminal is loose and whether the insulation is good. A humid environment may cause a short circuit, so the electrical compartment should be kept dry after operation.

6. Precautions for long-term storage

If the drilling rig needs to be out of service for a long time, it should be cleaned and covered with a dust cover, the negative pole of the battery should be disconnected, and the engine should be started regularly to prevent rust or aging of the components.

Through scientific daily care, rock drilling rigs can maintain efficient and safe operation, significantly reduce maintenance costs, and create greater value for enterprises.
